Our first New Year's in the South! The weather was brisk- a windy 40 degrees- but we hardy New Yorkers bundled up and stood on the corner of Royal and Dauphin St. and greeted the parade!

Of course my camera was too slow to photograph the terrific pre-Mardis Gras floats nor did one of the 20 + photos I took of the really neat police two wheelers- aka Segway Patrollers- or human green transporters- come out clear. But the essence of the festivities are here through Benno's photos.
