New Year Reflection 2015

Greetings from the deep South!

All is good here. Our first year was spent getting to know the neighborhood- exploring bayous, creeping through Spanish moss, painting, accumulating boats, learning how to survive Alabama drivers and forest fires!

Now that a new year has passed, we are settling in and adding to our herd of children. We now are proud keepers of two baby donkeys, four doggies and of course our four horses.

There is no such thing as green hay here. The "no see ums" or midges are as bad as NY black flies, and the mosquitoes are near prehistoric in size!

Every morning white egrets, blue herons, osprey, wintering exotic little birds,  and now a pair of bald eagles fly, hover and settle around us. We are very fortunate to live on Heron bay and have Heron bayou as our watery boundary. Haven`t seen alligators yet but you never know. All the neighbors/pirates tell us there are alligators and treasure along our shores ;-)
