Fires on the Bayou

I am told this happens every year, however we have been here for over two winters now, and ..."this did not happen" every year.
We were told a local pyromaniac was let out of prison. We were told lazy hunters set the fires and sit in their pickups along the highway waiting for game to cross the road.
Regardless, the Dauphin Islanders admired the blaze from across the bay. We Mon Louis Islanders chased the fires on our side of the bay for three weekends in a row and we reported two of the fires because they had become so common place people forgot to call. All of the fires started around 7pm.
